Cast iron pot 24cm MATT BLACK
The cast iron pot distributes and retains heat evenly and for longer. It's ideal for use in the oven.
The cast iron pot must be thoroughly washed before the first use.
Here's how:
1. Fill the pot with hot tap water and let it work for a while.
2. Add neutral detergent: Add a small amount of neutral detergent to the hot water. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as they might damage the pot's surface.
3. Wash the pot with a soft brush: Gently wash the inside and outside of the pot using a soft brush to remove any dirt and rust-preventative agents.
4. Thoroughly rinse the pot with clean water to remove all residues of the cleaning agent.
5. Dry the pot: Wipe the pot dry with a clean cloth.
6. Apply a thin layer of oil: Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to the surface of the pot to protect it from rust.
Tips:
Do not use steel wool for washing the cast iron pot as it could damage its surface.
Do not wash the cast iron pot in the dishwasher.
Immediately dry the cast iron pot after washing to prevent rust formation.
Store the cast iron pot in a dry place.
Additional information:
Treating the pot with oil creates a protective layer on its surface that prevents rust and corrosion.
This process is called "seasoning" and is important for prolonging the life of the cast iron pot.
The seasoning process should be repeated regularly to maintain the pot's protection.
Instructions for treatment (seasoning):
Wash the pot with hot water and a neutral cleaning agent and rinse thoroughly.
Dry the pot with a clean cloth.
Apply a thin layer of vegetable oil to all internal and external surfaces of the pot.
Heat the pot in a preheated oven at 180 - 200 °C.
Let the pot bake for 1 - 2 hours.
Turn off the oven and let the pot cool down inside.
